We would also like to congratulate some of our students for the additional honors they've earned. At the 2009 IEEE International Symposium on Sustainable Systems and Technology in Phoenix, AZ in May, Trisha Montalbo won first place in the Student Paper Competition with her paper titled "Selection of Lightweighting Strategies for Use Across an Automaker's Vehicle Fleet". Marie-Claude Nadeau received a TPP Best Thesis Award for academic year 2008-2009 for her thesis "Evaluating Manufacturing Flexibility Driven by Learning". Johann Komander was named DMSE Outstanding Senior. One of our newest students, Tracey Brommer, has received an NSF Fellowship in support of her doctoral studies.
We're also happy to note that Tommy Rand-Nash was accepted into the Ph.D. program in ESD and will be staying with MSL to complete his doctorate.
